Dr. James Graumlich
Dr. Graumlich is chair of the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He is also an associate professor of clinical pharmacology and medicine. Dr. Graumlich earned his BA from Duke University and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University. After receipt of a Health Professions Scholarship from the US Army, Dr. Graumlich completed internal medicine training at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. During a 20-year military career, Dr. Graumlich served as flight surgeon and Chief of Internal Medicine and earned four Army Commendation medals. Dr. Graumlich completed clinical pharmacology fellowship training at the US Food and Drug Administration, where he worked on the pre-approval review teams for carvedilol and ranolazine. After he joined the faculty of the University of Illinois, Dr. Graumlich focused his clinical practice on general internal medicine inpatients. In addition, he conducted clinical research in nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and hospitals. He also works as an anti-hypertensive drug clinical investigator and educator.
