Across the United States, non-profit organizations are bringing together patients, providers, insurers, employers, and policy makers to solve healthcare problems in their region. These organizations are called Regional Health Improvement Collaboratives.

Quality Quest for Health of Illinois belongs to the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement, a national leadership organization for more than 40 Regional Health Improvement Collaboratives. Collaboratives help stakeholders identify opportunities to improve the health and healthcare of their community while reducing costs.

Collaboratives publically report provider performance on quality measures. Quality reports allow patients to make informed healthcare decisions and also allow providers to see how they compare to the standards and their peers. Measuring performance has been consistently shown to be a significant driver of change.

Encourage your employer, your healthcare provider—even your insurance company—to support this effort by joining Quest.

A Provider is a professional engaged in the delivery of health services, including physicians, dentists, nurses, podiatrists, optometrists, clinical psychologists, etc. Hospitals and long-term care facilities are also Providers. The Medicare program uses the term "Provider" more narrowly, to mean participating institutions: hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, etc.
